Two Big Presidents Have A Phone Date This Weekend

President Donald Trump will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone this weekend.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will congratulate President Trump on his election, in what the Kremlin says is the first phone call between the two since Trump was inaugurated. The call is slated for Saturday evening Moscow time, or sometime Saturday afternoon on the U.S. east coast.
Exactly what all the call will entail, Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says it’s too early to say. But possible topics include the U.S. sanctions that were levied over accusations that the Kremlin backed hackers seeking to tamper with the recent presidential election (what election hacking?).
President Trump and other Republicans repeatedly denied that the cyber-attacks on Democratic Party institutions and release of stolen emails affected the outcome of the election, and Russia has denied any involvement. However during a press conference earlier this month Trump acknowledged for the first time, “As far as hacking, I think it’s Russia.” adding, “He (President Putin) shouldn’t be doing it. He won’t be doing it.”

According to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, other phone calls president Trump will make on Saturday will be to France’s President François Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
