Did President Donald Trump admit he is not up to his job as head of the United States of America? He did say this:
“This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.”
This from a man who had absolutely no political, military or any other appointed governmental position experience before becoming President of the U.S.A. Now he admits he is not qualified for the job. Well no wonder.
Mr. Trump admitted during a discussion in the Oval Office he was still trying to get used to having 24-hour Secret Service protection and its accompanying constraints. Not so obvious with his constant trips away from his office to a not so constrained golf outing on so many weekends.
“I loved my previous life. I had so many things going.”
In talking about his “previous life”, did he mean during the election? Apparently after 100 days in office, he still can’t get the ‘Good O’l Days” out of his head. During a discussion about Chinese President Xi Jinping, the president paused to hand out copies of what he said were the latest figures from the 2016 electoral map.
“Here, you can take that, that’s the final map of the numbers,” Mr. Trump said from his desk in the Oval Office, handing out maps of the United States with areas he won marked in red. “It’s pretty good, right? The red is obviously us.” Just can’t get those glory days out of his thoughts. This while many are saying his record of keeping up with Campaign Promises is falling short of past presidents. Perhaps we all need a little pleasant reminiscing during the tough times when things aren’t going our way.
The president says he misses being able to drive himself. This while meeting with Reuters reporters in the room. Does driving a golf cart make up for that in some way?
“You’re really into your own little cocoon, because you have such massive protection that you really can’t go anywhere,” he said.
For the sake of all of us, hopefully he will get used to this ‘Hard Job’ he fell into (yes he said he was ‘surprised he won’) and become a little more expert at it. Maybe next year he will feel a bit better about work.
By the way, these people are Not his Secret Service people… Oh how hard it is being president.
